Reliable Tank Storage Solutions

Bulk liquid storage is a core service provided by Europe Terminal Operators Limited, supporting petroleum and chemical supply chains across regional and international markets. High-capacity storage infrastructure plays a critical role in production balancing, trading activities, and downstream distribution. The company’s terminal operations are designed to deliver high standards of safety, asset integrity, and operational flexibility while meeting stringent regulatory requirements.

The terminal operates a large-scale network of aboveground storage tanks engineered to accommodate a wide range of bulk liquid products, including crude oil derivatives, refined petroleum products, petrochemicals, industrial chemicals, intermediates, and specialty liquids. Storage infrastructure is designed to support high-throughput operations while maintaining precise operational control and product integrity.

Storage Capacity and Tank Configuration

The Europe Terminal Operators Limited operates approximately 60 aboveground storage tanks with a total nominal storage capacity in excess of 1.2 million cubic meters. Individual tank capacities range from 10,000 m³ to 80,000 m³, enabling flexible allocation of storage for both large-volume and specialty products. The tank farm supports both dedicated customer tanks and multi-user storage configurations, allowing customers to align storage arrangements with commercial and operational requirements.

Tanks are constructed primarily of carbon steel and designed in accordance with API 650, EN 14015, and relevant national design codes. Tank configurations consider product characteristics such as density, vapor pressure, corrosivity, and flash point, as well as operating temperature requirements. Heated tanks are equipped with internal or external heating systems and insulation to maintain product flow characteristics and ensure reliable transfer operations.

Safety, ATEX, and Environmental Protection

Safety and environmental protection are integrated into all aspects of bulk liquid storage operations. Hazardous area classifications and equipment selection comply with ATEX Directives (2014/34/EU and 1999/92/EC). Electrical and instrumentation systems are designed for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres, reducing ignition risk.

Secondary containment systems, impermeable bunds, leak detection, and spill prevention measures are implemented across the terminal. Emergency response plans and regular drills ensure preparedness for abnormal situations, minimizing environmental impact and protecting personnel and surrounding communities.
